Changes in Haiti

It has been so great for the opportunity to return to Haiti. The changes that we have seen from our visit one year ago have been huge! The new members of the team have decided they are not believing anything the ‘veterans’ of the team tell of what to expect as we have been wrong on almost everything so far!! The clinic has been running smoothly. Today we even had a ‘down time’ after clinic and before supper because we finished up ahead of schedule. We did fill 131 perscriptions today thru the pharmacy with an average of 4 items per script. We have an awesome pharmacist, Dave, who I think is amazing himself at how productive the little pharmacy can be! It is such a humbling experience to put a bag of medicine, soap, toothbrush and necessities that they would not have into their hands. The smiles of gratefulness only grows larger when you put a pair of sunglasses on them. Some of the faces are a bit of a challenge to find a pair that fit because lots of Haitians have a very flat and broad nose, although they still appreciate the gift. Weather has been great, not too hot although it has rained for short spells each day which makes the humidity rather high. Yes, I am wearing my mosquito spray and sleeping under my mosquito net as with all the rain the mosquitos are much more abundant this year. Again, I am loving the fresh mangoes as they drip off my chin! Thanks for all your prayerful support and for following the blog. Comments are welcome!! Elva
